Christmas Carol Night 2012 @ Jesus House RCCG ,London. watch video

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Today, I took the kids and a couple of my work mates to Jesus House to watch there annual Christmas Carol, a celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. However, I was a bit disappointed, it was more a sing along party than a 'celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ'. I felt they missed out on an opportunity of telling guests and unbelievers, why we celebrate Christmas. I also noticed that their 'Happy Birthday Jesus' Big Christmas poster,  an 'in your face' banner for people to know what the reason for the season wasn't up.

It saddens me that the only one opportunity that churches can use to promote Jesus is normally used to promote themselves, its the case of, 'in case you don't know', ah! we have a prison ministry, we have a 'help the poor programme' etc.  The drama group had a 'modern day' play theme, the preacher did likewise.  The guests I took along said they enjoyed the show.  My point exactly, its just a show not a witness opportunity!

After all Christmas is the most important day in the calendar of Christians, it's the day our 'Saviour' Jesus Christ was born to earth. Without this event, there will be no 'Christian' who are the followers of Jesus Christ and His teachings. For generations past, prophecy after prophecy has foretold this event, when God will send to earth His only begotten son Jesus Christ to bring light into this world of darkness, to set us free from our sins, to give us hope, peace and above all how to love our Creator and love all human.

In order to reach and have access the masses, he came as a non-entity, born on a hay stack of straws among donkeys, served the poor, freed the tormented of their heavy burdens, healed the diseases of the body and of the mind. Jesus revolutionised humans thinking, teaching us that all is born for a purpose and that we are precious in the eyes of our creator God Almighty.

Our fear of life became inactive in the face of faith, believing that we can do all things and that all things are possible when we believe. Jesus gave us hope and peace, but most importantly that when we die on earth we live eternally with our creator. Jesus gave us a manual of living a fulfilled, purposeful life.
I pray and hope next year will be more geared to advertising and marketing Jesus in a way that Christ - mas will be seen as an opportunity to educate and remind people just like a church Campaign has done in Manhattan with a mega poster......
                'Christmas is Jesus'!
